Why socials are important
With my first baby, I made amazing mum friends through an NCT group and having that support made such a difference. Second time around, I skipped antenatal not feeling like I needed them, until my baby arrived and I suddenly felt quite isolated.
That contrast is what inspired me to start the free pregnancy socials in Malton, a space to connect, share, and support each other through it all.
Come along, even if you're feeling nervous, everyone’s in the same boat. You'll leave feeling lighter, more connected, and with local mum-to-be friends for the journey ahead.

FAQs
-
It is totally free, but I do ask you to book ahead, just so I know who’s coming. It also helps keep the group small, as there are only 10 spots available each time.
-
They are really relaxed and easygoing. You’ll be sitting with others who have similar due dates, so there’s something in common straight away.
We usually start with quick intros, just your name and how many weeks pregnant you are. Then I share a handy birth tip to kick things off. After that, it’s all about chatting, sharing, and connecting. I’m always around if you have any questions or want to chat!
-
I totally get it — that’s such a common worry! But honestly, everyone comes feeling a little bit like that at first. It’s really welcoming and relaxed and you’ll be with others at a similar stage, so there’s always something to chat about. You’ll feel at ease in no time and I’ll be there to say hi as soon as you walk in.
-
Feel free to invite any pregnant friends along, the more the merrier! But as we sometimes chat about personal or sensitive pregnancy-related stuff, I like to keep the socials just for expectant mums. It helps everyone feel more at ease and able to share openly if they want to.

Absolutely! You’re welcome at any stage. Some people come before their 12-week scan, others are right up near their due date (and even beyond!) There’s always a lovely mix of different stages at each social, which makes the chats even more helpful and supportive.
